This recent weather hasn't had much of an effect on the fishing, aside from the fact that it's cooled the water down substantially in the last week or so. I was worried that the snow and insane winds would shutdown the fishing but the days inbetween the fronts have been quite good. Fish have moved out a little deeper, I'm not getting a majority of them in 14-16ft of water now, and about 1-2ft off the bottom. Gray has been the most productive color along with the "fat man's favorite" (named after my former employer) or the copper clown as most people know it. Most of the fish are concentrated in the North Arm - Layton Springs, Sandy Point, Six Bays, and Green Banks are all producing fish. Bite has been late (9:30-10), I'm assuming because the air temps were in the low 30's last night and there was ice in my boat when I got there this morning. Bottom line is, the weather hasn't affected the fishing very much, and I'm looking forward to a good weekend ahead.
