Steelhead season is now open on the main. Chinook fishing closed at the end of November. Anglers are starting to catch a few steelhead in the lower River. Recent rains have pushed the river up, so it might be a good idea to try plunking.

Anglers who catch a hatchery winter steelhead are asked to turn in the snouts at one of the collection barrels. Those who’s snout contains a tag are entered into a monthly raffle for a $50 gift certificate to Sportsman’s Warehouse!

Trout fishing is closed in the mainstem and tributaries.

Coquille River: There are a few steelhead in the tidal portion of the Coquille River
Diamond Lake: The lake should start to freeze over
Elk River: A good number of Chinook have had a chance to distribute throughout the river
Galesville Reservoir: Galesville may finally start to fill again with lots of rain
Lemolo Lake: The reservoir has been drawn down for the season and is quite low
Pistol River: Fish have had a chance to move into the river system
Rogue River- Lower: The river flow is currently swift and muddy from recent winter storms
