We have been hearing good reports from the Metolius. Not much action on Green Drakes yet, but the fish should start keying into them soon. Nymphing remains the most consistent technique for catching fish. As we’ve mentioned before, a golden stone nymph trailed by a caddis pupae or mayfly nymph is an excellent tactic. Sculpin streamers can also be effective for targeting larger trout and bull trout. Keep an eye out for caddis hatching and make sure to have some caddis patterns in your box, as well as PMD’s. The whole river from the headwaters to Billy Chinook is open now so there's plenty of river to explore and spread out. We’re looking forward to some awesome summer days on the Met.
