The Crooked has been fishing well. Caddis make for the main dry fly activity but PMD’s are around on some days as well. Like most places right now nymphing will be the best method for picking up numbers of fish. We love dry-dropper setups on the crooked on with the hot weather we are experiencing, a hopper up top is not a bad idea. Follow this by 2-3 feet of tippet and a small caddis or mayfly pattern and you should be set to get after some fish. Swinging soft hackles is another fun way to get some grabs. The Crooked canyon is going to be hot over the next week so plan accordingly.
