Continues to fish very well!

The Lower Deschutes continues to fish very well as we transition into one of the river's most consistent summer patterns.

Golden Stones, Yellow Sallies, PMDs, PEDs, and caddis are now providing the majority of the surface activity throughout the canyon. Trout are looking up regularly during the afternoons and evenings, and those covering water with a variety of dry fly options continue to see to water success.

Dry-dropper setups remain one of the most effective approaches right now. Golden stone dries, Chubby Chernobyls, PMD patterns, and caddis adults are all producing fish when paired with a small mayfly nymph, perdigon, or caddis pupa.

Nymphing continues to be a consistent approach.  Pairing a golden stone with a perdigon, Frenchie, caddis pupa, or mayfly nymph have been productive combinations. Anglers willing to adjust weight and depth are finding frequent action.

With multiple hatches occurring simultaneously, opportunities to fish both dry flies and subsurface presentations effectively are bountiful throughout the canyon.
