The Crooked River continues to fish well with stable tailwater conditions keeping fish active throughout the day. Recent flow adjustments have remained within a favorable range for both wading and consistent trout fishing.
Caddis remain the headline hatch, with PMDs and midges providing additional opportunities as the day progresses. Warmer afternoon temps continue to offer the strongest dry fly windows, particularly where fish are holding in slower tailouts and foam lines.
Subsurface fishing continues to be the most dependable approach. Zebra Midges, scuds, Olive Perdigons, Two Bit Hookers, Pheasant Tails, and small caddis pupa have all been producing. If fish become hesitant, downsizing flies or adjusting depth has been more productive than making major pattern changes.
