Crowley Lake Fish Report

The Trout Fitter Staff

Report Date:

http://www.thetroutfitter.com/fshreport.html

Water Conditions:

Very low water and very cold.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches:

Most of the access routes have been blocked by the LADWP to prevent any boat launching around the lake with no inspection. If you have had your float tube, canoe poontoon boat or whatever in infested waters in the last month, please don't chance it. Fish along Green Banks and Six Bays from the shore or dredge deep in the latter. A great walk-in spot is in Whiskey Bay behind the Marina where there are many small plants and still some Brown monsters chasing them.

Recommended Flies:

#14 Blood Worms are early producers followed by size 16 Black or Olive Optimidge late morning. Try green flashback versions if overcast. Perfection Perch, Matukas, and dark leech patterns for the stripping and slow it down in the cold water.

The Crowley Cam (mostly wet dirt cam) is off for the season. See you in the Spring with some water!

Guides Hint: A four DVD copy of the recent 8-hour Crowley University will be available soon for those who could not attend. This is a reference library you need to add to your arsenal if you fish the lake.
