The Fall River has been fishing really well. It’s consistent temperatures and flows have probably kept the trout in their normal feeding patterns, despite the heat wave. The timing of hatches may have been pushed forward or backward. Expect caddis, pale morning duns and maybe some yellow sallies. Caddis are typically size 14 - 18 and PMDs are usually size 16. For nymphing, imitating the active hatches can work well. If there is no hatch, midges and small mayfly patterns are the go-to, size 16 - 22. Streamers work well, especially with freshly stocked fish. The water may be cold out there but the air is not, be prepared for the heat. Here is a blog that we created to remind you how to treat fish and yourself in extreme heat.

Suggested Dries: Parachute PMD #16-18, Tilt Wing PMD #16-18, Hackle Stacker PMD #14-16, Yellow Sally #14 -16, Purple Haze #16-20, Sparkle Dun BWO #16-20, Hackle Stacker BWO #16-20, Olive Haze #16-18, Tilt Wing BWO #16-18, Parachute Adams #16-20
