The Crooked River is running at 121cfs which is a bit low but it has been fishing fine. Watch for fish rising as they are still keying into BWO’s some days. As May moves along we will be seeing more caddis out there and this makes for some fun dry fly action.  The best subsurface patterns right now are midges, PMD and BWO nymphs, scuds and caddis pupa. Indicator tactics are great for covering water, while euro tactics can be awesome in pools where the fish stack up. Now that terrestrials are out and about, try fishing a small chubby with a nymph dropper rig. The Crooked canyon is gorgeous in the Spring and the fishing is heating up!
