Fall River is fishing great right now, especially with recent stockings keeping plenty of fish in the system. The usual spots are producing—fish are spread out but holding in the classic runs, bends, and deeper slots.
We’re seeing hatches throughout the day, with midges, BWOs, and some early mayflies keeping fish active. There are windows where fish are looking up, especially during the warmer parts of the afternoon, but subsurface is still the most consistent approach.
Small nymphs are getting it done—zebra midges, pheasant tails, and other mayfly patterns fished clean and deep are key. Don’t be afraid to mix in a balanced leech or small attractor if you’re trying to move fish. When you do see risers, keep it simple with small dries and good presentation.
Overall, it’s in a great spring groove—good numbers of fish, steady bug activity, and plenty of opportunity if you stay patient and fish it right.
