The Fall River continues to fish really well and remains one of the most consistent fisheries in Central Oregon. PMDs are firmly established as the primary hatch during the afternoons and evening caddis activity continues to improve.

While there are definitely fish willing to eat on the surface, subsurface presentations are still producing the most consistent day-to-day action.  Long leaders, light tippet, and clean drifts remain important, particularly in the slower flats, tailouts, and weed-edge water where fish can get selective.

Streamer fishing remains a productive option for anglers targeting larger holdover fish. Smaller sculpins, mini jig leeches, pine squirrel patterns, and other compact streamers continue to move fish.

The Fall feels right where it should be for early June—steady bug activity, healthy fish movement, and increasingly consistent opportunities for anglers willing to switch between dries, nymphs, and streamers throughout the day.
