Summer is here on the Truckee River.
Flows have come down to just around normal. Around 650 cfs, here in Hirschdale. About the same all the way down river, and lower some up river. Lots of miles of Truckee River to fish right now. California, Nevada pick your poison.
This is when you look for middle slots, chutes, seams, etc. Trouts will push into the middle of the river for depth, and shelter, and oxygen. They're gonna stay there all Summer. Look for breaks in that current. Learn to fish pocket water.
Nymphing is the way to go. Tight line rigs, or what they like to call Euro.
Just about perfect fishing weather, get up and enjoy.
