Report: The latest on this storied river is there are fish, they are speeding up through the river. Pods of half pounders can be found in the mid-river section, and there are a few adults here and there to be found above Happy Camp up through Iron Gate. The river is closed above Iron Gate up to just below the Oregon border. Salmon should be spawning in the Tree of Heaven area, those that haven't decided to go up into Oregon. Now would be the time to explore and see what's up after the dam removals.
