The river fished decent over the past week and run off took somewhat of a break. Although the Truckee was a little high it was very clear. There was an assortment of bugs coming off depending on where you were fishing. BWO's, Grey Drakes, March Browns and even a PMD or two were spotted over Memorial Day weekend. The weather over the next couple of weeks is supposed to really be nice so old man run off should return. It is starting to warm up in the upper elevations and the upper stretches of the river are starting to rise. This is usually a key indicator that the flows are going to go up. The highs in Reno are supposed to reach the mid 80's by next weekend and the 70's in Truckee. There should be plenty of bug life on the river highlighted by the carpenter ant hatch just right around the corner. The water from Lake Tahoe down through Truckee should remain fishable but once you get down through the canyon section below Boca bridge look for the flows to be pretty high. Flows as of June 1st: Town of Truckee 346 CFS, Boca Bridge 769 CFS, Farad 954 CFS, Reno 712 CFS.
