It's a cold proposition this time of year on the California side. It's been in the low teens in the morning. Yesterday, 9 degrees at my house in Hirschdale, today 18, with 4" of snow. Time to start fishing a little later. Have breakfast, drink your coffee slowly, wait for it to warm up, and then hit the river. On the Nevada side things are much warmer. Some of the rainbows and browns that we've been hooking have been pretty phenomenal. West, and East of Reno have been fishing well. November is a very good month in the Silver State. I'd be throwing streamers, and nymphing with the small stuff. The forecast is for snow showers in the Sierra and much of Western Nevada for the rest of the week. If it ain't to windy, it will bring out the bugs in all the rivers, creeks, and tribs. You should see rising fish all weekend. Some photo's and wild horses through the conservancy.
