Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

The Lower Deschutes is absolutely on right now and the Salmonfly hatch is heating up along with the coming weekend temps. We’re seeing more adult Salmonflies, golden stones, and consistent topwater action every day.

The big bugs are bringing fish to the surface and there are extended windows with fish aggressively looking up holding tight to grassy banks, rock walls, and softer shoreline structure.

Subsurface fishing is still producing really well too, especially during slower morning periods. Stonefly nymphs, caddis pupa, jigged mayfly patterns, and attractor nymphs are all producing consistently in softer seams, transition water, and walking-speed buckets.

We are is a classic seasonal window right now. Bugs are everywhere, fish are aggressive, and the next couple weeks should only continue to improve as temperatures warm & stabilize.
