The Lower Deschutes River is fishing really well right now and the whole canyon is waking up fast. Bug activity has noticeably picked up over the last week and we’re starting to see the early signs of the Salmonfly season building a bit earlier than normal.

Most of the action is still subsurface, with stonefly nymphs, caddis pupa, mayfly patterns, and attractor nymphs producing.  Dry fly windows are becoming more consistent as the afternoons warm up as more fish are looking up.

WE ARE GETTING BIG BUG EATS ON TOP!

Things are accelerating quickly down there right now. The flows, weather, temps and, bugs are all aligning for a great week, and the fish are as feisty as ever.
