The Crooked River has settled into a solid pattern this week. Flows have stayed fairly stable, just below 200 CFS, and fish will start to hold in more consistent and predictable water.

Bug activity continues to improve. PMDs are a main player in the afternoon, but we’re also seeing more March Browns showing up during the warmer parts of the day. Midges continue to produce during the morning and evening periods.

Nymphing has been the most productive approach with zebra midges, smaller mayflys, perdigons, soft hackles, and Two Bit Hookers making up the menu.

More dry fly opportunities are starting to happen during the afternoon PMD and March Brown windows, especially on overcast days, but the surface activity is still pretty timing-dependent.

Recommended Dries:
Purple Haze #18-20, Parachute March Brown #16, Winkers Midge Black #18-24, Stillborn Midge #18-20, Chubby Chernobyl Black #14-16, Parachute PMD #18-20

Recommended Nymphs:
Peacock Jimmy Legs #10-12, Purple Perdigon #14-18, Psycho Prince #14-18, Two Bit Hooker #16-20 (Red or Black), BWO Emergers #16-20, Tailwater Tiny TB Olive #18-22, Soft Hackle Olive #16-20, Zebra Midge #18-20
